TDI has adopted amendments to 28 Texas Administrative Code §7.83 and §7.84, relating to the appeal of examination reports and examination frequency. These amendments clarify examination appeal procedures and allow each entity that the department examines to appeal those findings to the department when there is not another examination appeals process in the Insurance Code that applies to that entity. Covering Texans: How the Insurance Industry Works for Texas
Final touches are being made to the economic impact report TALHI and 9 other insurance trade groups commissioned late last year. The report will be distributed to 150 Texas House members, 50 Texas Senators, and the Speaker, Lt. Governor, and Governor in a coordinated effort on Tuesday, February 12. Stay tuned for the electronic report, which we will send out to our members next week.

Insurance 101
Once again this session, TALHI will be presenting an "Insurance 101" class for key Capitol staff and legislators who wish to attend. This year we are partnering with other insurance trades, including AFACT and TAHP, to present this event on Thursday, February 21 at the Austin Club. This afternoon class will be followed immediately by a happy hour. If you will be in town and are interested in attending, let Jennifer know.
