House Insurance Hearings & Insurance Report Release
The House Insurance Committee will meet on Tuesdays at 8 am starting this Tuesday, February 12. This first meeting, which will include invited testimony from TDI, OPIC, and TWIC, coincides with the release of our “Covering Texans: How the Insurance Industry Works for Texas” report. TALHI and the other groups who collaborated on this report will be delivering the report to legislative offices on Tuesday. We will post an electronic release of this report on the website and the app in conjunction with the official report rollout on Tuesday.

Register Today for the Forum & Lobby Day
Be sure to register to attend TALHI’s 2019 Legislative Forum & Lobby Day., taking place March 19-20 in Austin. Our venues this year will be the Austin Club and the TALHI office. Insurance 101
Don’t forget to let Jennifer know if you are planning to attend our “Insurance 101” class for key Capitol staff on Thursday, February 21. This 2:30 pm class will be followed immediately by a happy hour at 4:30 pm. TALHI is presenting this event along with AFACT, TCAIS, NAMIC, TAHP, and TAHU.

Weekly Calls During Session
With House Insurance meeting on Tuesdays, calls will continue on Wednesday mornings pending release of the Senate B&C schedule. Be aware that the fast-paced nature of the session may sometimes necessitate last minute changes to the call dates or times, so be sure to keep your eye on your email and the web and/or mobile app calendars.
