GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: What is the dress code?

A: "Business casual" is appropriate for the general sessions, Welcome Reception, CLE breakfast, and LIPAC Dinner. Standard golf attire is required for the golf tournament. "Business casual" is appropriate for the Gala Reception/Dinner, though some folks do like to dress a little more formally in "business" attire, semi-formal/formal attire is NOT expected. Because temperatures in meeting rooms tend to fluctuate, we suggest you dress in layers or bring a light sweater or jacket just in case.

Q: What's the weather like in San Antonio?

A: In late September San Antonio averages highs around 90 and lows around 70, and average rain chances of 22%. As the Round Up nears, you can check here for a 10-day forecast.

Q: Will I get CLE credit?

A: The entire program will be submitted for CLE credit by the State Bar of Texas, including 1 hour of ethics for the optional CLE Lunch & Learn. If you would like CLE credit, be sure let us know your bar number when you register. If you would like proof of attendance for CLEs for an organization other than the State Bar of Texas, we are happy to provide you with a certificate of hours completed, upon request.

Q: My question has not been answered here. Whom should I contact?

A: Please feel free to e-mail Teri our Director of Operations & Member Services if you have additional questions about the Round Up.

THINGS TO DO IN SAN ANTONIO AND THE PEARL

Q: Where can I find general information on things to do in San Antonio?

A: Here is a site with general information on San Antonio attractions, restaurants, shopping, arts & culture, and nightlife.

Q: I won't have a car. How can get around in San Antonio?

A: San Antonio has taxi cabs and rideshare options. There are restaurants and night life within walking distance of the Hotel Emma as well, in the Pearl District. A river shuttle also stops near the hotel.

Q: How does the river shuttle work?

A: You can catch the river shuttle, provided by Go Rio, San Antonio River Cruises, at its Pearl stop, #15 near our hotel. A day pass for the full river shuttle system is $21.50 and must be purchased online, as there is no ticket booth at our stop. So, before you leave the hotel to catch the river shuttle, go online and buy a ticket. The system consists of two circuits, Downtown Reach and Museum Reach (we are at the Pearl stop in the Museum Reach circuit). If you wish to explore Downtown, we recommend the Combination Pass, which includes access to both the Downtown Reach and Museum Reach circuits. An interactive map showing the stops is here; you'll have to move the map to see our stop, Stop 13-The Pearl, which is the northernmost stop.

Q: What is there to do/eat/shop that's close to the hotel? What about spa and fitness activities?

There are many dining options in the Pearl district, the area in which the hotel is located. In the hotel itself, there are four options: all-day eclectic seasonal fare at Supper Restaurant, drinks and appetizers at Sternewirth Bar, fine groceries and breakfast/lunch to go at Larder, and cross-cultural coastal cuisine at Southerleigh. A quick stroll away, you can find several casual options from ramen to doughnuts to burgers and more in the food-court-style Food Hall, coffee and French pastries at Bakery Lorraine, ranch style grilling at Boiler House, Peruvian-Asian cuisine at Botika, Latin-inspired live fire at the Culinary Institute's Savor, interior Mexican at La Gloria, and cool off for dessert at Lick Honest Ice Cream. If it's drinks, you're after, in addition to the aforementioned Sternewirth and Bakery Lorraine, check out Merit Coffee Co, Blue Box Bar, High Street Wine Co., Jazz, TX and outside the Pearl on the Riverwalk enjoy Rita's on the River .

Of course, the hotel has a workout facility, and you can jog or walk the tranquil Riverwalk, which is directly behind the hotel. Splendid offers waxing, facials, lash extensions, makeup, and more. Last but not least, Hiatus Spa + Retreat is a full service day spa located directly next door to the hotel.
