TALHI Bills of Note Up for Hearing
Both the House and Senate versions of the Texas Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association (TLHIGA) update bills were heard in committee this past Tuesday, March 19. Both SB 1153 and HB 1864 were left pending in their committees after hearing testimony from Jennifer Cawley and Bart Boles, the TLHIGA Executive Director. A committee substitute for HB 207, the non-guaranteed charges disclosure bill, was also left pending in committee following testimony by Jennifer on Tuesday. All bills are expected to be voted out of committee next week. Next week’s House Insurance hearing will focus on pharmacy bills and balance billing.

TALHI’s 403(b) reform bill has been set for hearing in the House Pensions, Investments and Financial Services Committee for Tuesday, March 26 at 8 AM. Jennifer Cawley will testify along with Doug Massey from NAIFA-Texas.
